Computer or telephone speakers might be too close to each other. Ask the two people that are too close to each other to move apart or shut a door. You could also ask one of them to leave the audio conference or mute audio on their device; though muting by itself may not always be as effective in reducing the echo.

Using headphones helps reduce the echoing effect, too. Multiple computers with active audio could be in the same conference room. Again, ask the two people that are too close to each other to move apart or close a door. You can also ask one of them to leave the audio conference, mute audio on their device, or wear headphones.

Lagging and freezing usually indicate a problem with your internet connection. On a mobile device, move to an area with a better connection to see if this helps. On PCs, stick with a wired Ethernet connection, if possible. Aim for the right internet speeds for a successful video chat. When talking with multiple people in a team setting, you want the upload speed around 1Mbps and the download speed around Kbps. You can always check your current speeds with a quick internet speed test.

If the speeds are undesirable, repeat Solution 1. Also, you can check out our tips on how to increase internet speed.

To access these options, click the cog icon Settings on the main screen of the Zoom desktop app, or click the arrow icon within the video camera icon during a call and then select Video Settings on the pop-up menu.

Sharing your screen is an important part of many Zoom calls. Sharing your screen takes up a lot of bandwidth. Use a wired connection, if available, for the best performance. In addition to this, there may be several other issues that may prevent the Zoom microphone from working properly.

But if Zoom still cannot detect the microphone in Windows 11, here are a few things to try. If you are using an external microphone, whether wired or wireless, you must first check the connection. In most cases, an incorrect connection behind Zoom fails to detect the microphone in Windows When you click the Zoom call link to join, you will be asked if you want to join the audio.

Make sure the Join computer audio option is selected. To enable audio, click the Join Audio button in the lower left corner, then click the Join using computer audio option when prompted. Scroll down to find the Zoom app, and make sure the section listed below it has access to the microphone, in addition to the app itself. Here, type mmsys. It will directly open the Sound window from the Control Panel.

Next, scroll down and look for your audio output device. If the sound does not play, enable other options and test them to find the correct playback device. Adjust Windows 11 Sound Settings If none of the above methods worked for you, try adjusting sound-related settings from the Windows Settings page.

Follow the instructions below to learn how it works:. Next, select the speaker you want to use as your audio output device on your Windows 11 PC. After that, click the arrow icon to open the speaker properties window. This will allow your Windows 11 PC to use the built-in speaker. Sometimes, users face no sound issues on Windows 11 when this setting is turned on, so better to keep it turned off. Windows 11 will now start detecting the problem and will fix the no sound issue on your PC.

You should also give the built-in troubleshooter a try in case none of the above methods work in solving the problem for you. Reinstall Audio Driver in Windows 11 Some users have reported that old audio drivers often break sound on Windows In such cases, you need to update the audio driver to the latest version manually.

It should be something on the lines of Realtek or the sound card your PC is using. If there is a new update available for your sound output device, Windows 11 will automatically update it and ask you to restart the PC. Once rebooted, the no sound issue should be fixed on Windows For detailed instructions, follow our article on how to update drivers on Windows In case there is no update available, you can try some third-party driver update tools for Windows I use IObit Driver Booster to update all my drivers, and it works really well.

Now, if there is no sound on Windows 11, even after reinstalling the driver, right-click on the sound device and disable it. Note : If the Join Audio option is missing, tap the menu in the bottom-right corner, select Disconnect Audio, leave the call, and rejoin after a few seconds. Note : You can also try joining Zoom by dialing into the meeting with your phone number and see if your audio will work.

You can also update the Zoom app on your computer or mobile device to avoid any potential issues, including those related to Zoom audio. If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall Zoom on your computer or mobile device and then try using the audio during a Zoom call.
